Inferno Hot Pilates Vienna
Inferno Hot Pilates?
IHP – the Perfect Complement to Bikram Yoga.
What Is Inferno Hot Pilates?
Hot Pilates – an intense, low-impact, 60-minute workout in a room heated to 35 degrees Celsius with 40% humidity.
This training system combines Pilates principles with high-intensity interval training while remaining gentle on the body. The intense full-body workout is designed to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve health and wellbeing.
How Does Inferno Hot Pilates Work?
Inferno Hot Pilates combines cardio and strength training in a fast, effective workout. It brings together high-intensity interval training (HIIT), the Pilates principle of body alignment and cardio.
This type of training keeps your heart rate up, strengthens your body and burns fat!
The result: long, lean muscles and a body that is both toned and strengthened. The heat loosens the muscles and the humidity makes you sweat. The increased heart rate boosts metabolism and fat burning.
Why Inferno Hot Pilates?
We do so much sitting down: working, eating, travelling and socialising. As a result, major muscle groups such as our glutes, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor become inactive.
This inactivity leads to many health problems, including excess weight, back pain, faster deterioration of bones and joints (osteoporosis), and even pelvic floor dysfunction.
In most cases, prevention is the easiest cure! We start by strengthening the glutes, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor, helping to support the hips, back, spine, organs and all our essential bodily functions.
The result is relief from back pain, poor posture, weight problems and weak muscles. You gain strength, flexibility, range of motion and mental awareness, increasing your longevity, vitality and quality of life!
Who Can Practise Inferno Hot Pilates?
Anyone can practise Inferno Hot Pilates. It is a low-impact class (with no jumping) focused on strengthening and healing the body through basic movements that connect mind and body.
The exercises are suitable for every fitness level! Start slowly and increase the intensity over time. Classes always focus on correct body alignment, and all our instructors are certified directly by Gabriella Walters, the founder of Inferno Hot Pilates.
What Can You Expect in One of Our Hot Inferno Pilates Classes?
HEAT! The room is heated to 35 degrees Celsius with 40% humidity to increase circulation and relax the muscles, improving muscle control and reducing the risk of injury.
INFERNO! You will feel the burn in your muscles throughout the class. That is the goal. If it burns, it is working!
MUSIC! You will work out to motivating music that adds to the fun and great energy of the class!
HIIT!, or high-intensity interval training, is a technique in which you give it your all: one hundred per cent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise followed by short recovery periods.
HIIT keeps your heart rate high and burns more fat in less time. Your metabolism stays elevated for hours afterwards. It is an incredibly efficient way to train.
Working in quick, low-impact bursts can improve endurance without placing strain on the heart and body. HIIT cardio supports heart efficiency and delivers oxygen to the muscles more quickly.
CARDIO! Time is precious these days, and most of us have very little to spare. Cardiovascular training is known for burning fat and calories to support weight loss. It strengthens the heart so it does not have to work as hard to pump blood, increases lung capacity and helps reduce the risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and some forms of cancer.
In IHP, we do our cardio in the form of Tabata, so just 4 minutes can be equivalent to 30 minutes of an average cardio workout.
TABATA! Tabata is a specific form of high-intensity interval training inspired by Dr. Izumi Tabata. It is performed in 4-minute blocks consisting of 8 rounds of 20 seconds of high-intensity effort and 10 seconds of rest (or active recovery). Dr. Tabata used this protocol in his 1996 study of athletes to see whether it would improve skaters’ performance. He found that this method had the greatest impact on improving their speed. The skaters with the lowest initial fitness levels also improved the most.
LOW IMPACT! Low-impact exercises put less strain on the body, particularly the joints, and are a great way to get a heart-pumping workout while reducing the risk of injury. You may have heard us describe it as always keeping one hand or foot on the floor. This avoids excessive jolts or impact on the joints.
Everyone can benefit from this class and do it! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!
